Over the past six months, I’ve tracked my money with hledger—a plain text double-entry accounting system written in Haskell. It’s been surprisingly painless.
My previous attempts to pick up real accounting tools floundered. Hosted tools are privacy nightmares, and my stint with GnuCash didn’t last.

DeveloppementOpen-SourceVous savez, les sauvegardes, c’est un peu comme les visites chez le dentiste : on sait qu’il faut le faire, mais on repousse toujours à plus tard. Et bah figurez-vous que deux petits génies français viennent de sortir une solution qui va vous faire adorer les backups.
Je vous présente Plakar, l’œuvre de Gilles Chehade (le gars derrière OpenSMTPD) et Julien Mangeard (ancien CTO de Veepee). Deux pointures de l’open source qui se sont dit en toute modestie “tiens, et si on révolutionnait le backup ?”. Et franchement, ils n’ont pas fait les choses à moitié puisque leur startup Plakar Korp, basée à Paris, vient de lever 3 millions de dollars en mai 2025 avec des investisseurs de fou comme Seedcamp, et des business angels genre Olivier Pomel de Datadog ou Solomon Hykes de Docker.
Mais alors, qu’est-ce qui rend Plakar si spécial ? Déjà, c’est simple comme bonjour à installer. Un petit go install github.com/PlakarKorp/plakar/cmd/plakar@latest et vous êtes prêt. Ensuite, pour créer une sauvegarde, c’est du genre plakar at /var/backups create puis au choix:

The majority of the traffic on the web is from bots. For the most part, these bots are used to discover new content. These are RSS Feed readers, search engines crawling your content, or nowadays AI bots crawling content to power LLMs. But then there are the malicious bots. These are from spammers, content scrapers or hackers. At my old employer, a bot discovered a wordpress vulnerability and inserted a malicious script into our server. It then turned the machine into a botnet used for DDOS. One of my first websites was yanked off of Google search entirely due to bots generating spam. At some point, I had to find a way to protect myself from these bots. That's when I started using zip bombs.
